585470 2007-08-28 08:03:00 Hi since June the 11th I have not been able to connect to the NZ Hearald website on my laptop. I've tried Firefox and IE but it makes no difference. This is the only site I have trouble with. It takes about 3-4 minutes to load up and loads up the home page from June the 11th. I've tried clearing out the cache and I just don't get it. Any ideas what needs to be changed on my laptop to enable me to connect and get the news? Danger (287)
585471 2007-08-28 08:26:00 What happens if you go directly to an article link eg, www.nzherald.co.nz and then back to the home page?

Do you have any content filtering software enabled (sometimes part of a firewall)?

585473 2007-08-28 08:46:00 I was with Paradise dial up until about 3 weeks ago when I went onto PDQ. No difference.
I also tried the above link, same deal. On windows XP, had Sygate Firewall until tonight, and just downloaded Comodo. Same deal. No worky.

585474 2007-08-28 08:54:00 And HOW is the laptop connected to the net??

Directly / by itself, or is it on a network / ethernet / wireless?

585475 2007-08-28 09:07:00 Makes no difference. I was on dial up, now its via an ADSL connection and either via ethernet or wireless has made no difference. No other computers connected. My PC would connect to the Herald site via the same means until last week when I trashed it. Thats why I would now like the laptop to connect to the news as its my only computer now.
Its a mystery.:help:

585476 2007-08-28 09:13:00 Double click on Comodo, then go to tasks / define a trusted network down the bottom, then click on next.

Any adapters appear here?? if something appears here, click on next till it says finish.

See what happens.

585477 2007-08-28 09:25:00 Yeah that picked up my ethernet card, and the hard drive did some running after I finished but still no change. Herald site still not loaded after about 3 minutes still. Just loading up on the home page of June 11th after about 4 minutes. The day Augie Auer died.
And the page is in a basic older style than the updated Herald site uses these days.
