| 586421 | 2007-08-30 19:53:00 | Hi Could anyone recommend a price to sell this system at? It has Windows XP. AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2200 MHz 1024 MB RAM 19inch CRT monitor NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT SONY DVD RW 120GB HDD Keyboard, mouse, speakers, printer, and a desk. Thanks Mike I'd say $450 too depending on brand of parts which you don't mention. And sell the printer and desk separate. Or at least the desk. |

With desk, monitor, printer, still a fast cpu and good ram with an o/s, you should get a good 500 - 600 at least on trade-me, maybe a bit more. |

| 586423 | 2007-08-30 22:08:00 | There's also a reasonable difference between what it is worth and what someone will pay for it. Just because the system may only be worth $450 or so doesn't stop someone with no knowledge of current computer prices paying $600 on trademe - I agree with SolMeister. | Erayd (23) | ||

It used to be very much that way, but I find it happening less and less, because there is now a huge number of similar computers on there at a given time, and it's easy for buyers to look around for a reasonable deal, even if they don't know much. Most people list items at the market price, so if yours is much above that, it will just be ignored. Having said that, you could always list it at $600 and see if there's any interest if you have the time. pctek, I've never seen anybody ask what brand parts are in a used computer on Trade Me. If nobody knows what brand the parts are, it can't affect the price. Unless of course it's expensive Corsair RAM or something and this is used as a selling point. |
