585656 2007-11-04 23:58:00 Why would you want to use it here? It'd just get bricked everytime they updated it. I mean if you're into useless gadgets and endless frustration, then yes, a unlocked iPhone is the best for you. beeswax34 (63)

585658 2007-11-05 18:19:00 my friend has an iPhone, and he's using his normal Vodafone number in his . i don't know how, but it works normally, as if he's using a non-iPhone phone .

he can also connect to the internet, used it once to buy an item from trademe .

i'm not sure whether its a hacked one or unlocked one, or whatever, but it works here .

585659 2007-11-05 18:34:00 my workmate has an iphone, he hacked it himself, took a couple hours, but he still seems to spend a lot of time using a pc to hack other things on it like ringtones, text tones. it's not a straight forward thing. BUT it does work. Multi touch interface is pretty cool also. web browsing is easy. Keefcake (12745)

Of course it's hacked/unlocked . Well unlocked really cos you only hack to run your programs on it I think .

585661 2007-11-06 07:10:00 Anyone know when vodafone is going to launch them here.? Are they fully internet compatible like using a pc at home or like the wap browser in my nokia 6210?.
Would the rates probaly be the same as laptop with a vodem sticking out the side?
If they dont hurry up and get them here the excitment might fizzle out and the google phone beat them.
I remember when the stuffed teletubbys came out you couldnt get one for love or money a year latter they are in bargin bins at the warehouse.

585664 2007-11-06 10:52:00 my mate, a mac user/apple fan, imported an iphone for $1200 as soon as he could.

had it hacked/whatever so it worked on vodafone. i had a play, and i tell you now i wasn't at all impressed at what he had bought for $1200. specially as one update would mean he has to re-hack.
lulziest moment was when i found it cannot do a barrel roll (display rotates depending on orientation so it's always the right way up, but it won't do complete circles)

could have a legal nokia which does more for less. on saturday i had a play on another mate's nokia(?) phone which had a dos emulator, and could play wolfenstien and doom!
