2007-08-28 09:49:00 | Yeah I can connect via that site. So what do you think the problem maybe? | Danger (287) | |
2007-08-28 09:54:00 | Have you got Spybot on your computer? | zqwerty (97) | |
2007-08-28 09:56:00 | Try this - go to control panel > Internet options>Security Internet Zone - Medium or Medium/High Make sure its NOT set to custom, then go to Restricted sites and make sure NZ Herald is not listed, if it is remove it. Then back to Trusted Sites and make sure the slider is set to medium. you cant add NZ Herald to the trusted site as you need to have the address not http:

2007-08-28 10:01:00 | It is set to custom level. Should I set it to defualt? I tried setting it to medium, still can't connect. No restricted sites. | Danger (287) | |
2007-08-28 10:03:00 | Ok, run Spybot Go to /Tools/Hosts File, see what is written in Hosts, don't delete until you backup if there is anything there but localhost 127.0.0.1 Let us know what is written there.

2007-08-28 10:05:00 | I tried setting defaults, no change. Will run Spybot now. Thanks. | Danger (287) | |
2007-08-28 10:17:00 | Something happened to Firefox while I was doing that and I had to reboot it. Anyway there is about a million sites in there, all destination 0.0.0.0. except for about 7 sites at the bottom with more proper IP address's that I visit on a regular basis. The Herald is one of those 7 sites listed. So is Press F1. | Danger (287) | |
2007-08-28 10:24:00 | oh well there is your problem, delete them all except for localhost 127.0.0.1 after you make a backup in case there is something special I don't know about your computer's setup and specific programs you have on it. Shut down and reboot and then try again I guess.
