586569 2007-08-31 06:01:00 Having played Sherlock Holmes-The Awakened demo from the dvd that came with the latest PC World I then purchased SH-The Silver Earing from gamesplanet using "getright" download manager as they suggested. The game downloaded and installed ok except that the 4GB game took 6 hours to download taking me well over my limit and now i'm on dialup for a few days. I activated the game using the serial number given. Today when I try to open the game I briefly hear music and the screen goes black with - Out of Range! - message. The task manager shows the game running. Any help would be appreciated. My comp is running windows xp, bellbird (6169)

Or try changing the refresh rate, by right mouse on the desktop / properties / settings / advanced / monitor tab.

Whats it on now?

586572 2007-08-31 08:50:00 I've accidently fixed the problem. Did a driver update by right click on desktop and selecting NVIDIA display, driver update. Can see all the info about NVIDIA that I've been looking for too. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction - I didn't know about r/click on desktop. bellbird (6169)
