586699 2007-09-01 04:53:00 I have a dell too and it does came with tones of crap  , so i just wipe out everything as everyone will do then do a clean install.

im not a computer technician but i can probably tell that your partner haven't reinstall the system for a while, and all the "remainder" of the deleted program or games still stays on the system. ( well that is what happen to me sometimes )

my personal approach is wipe out the drive your system is installed and do a clean install.

if doing a clean installation of the operating system is not possible, I will personally recommend TuneUp. Utilities to clean up your system.
