2015-12-26 20:03:00 | And come across an error 505 when you try to update an app? And managed to fix it?? Brought a Unisurf 10.1 tablet the other day in town for 1/2 price. Works fine. But one of the apps brings up this error, when I try to update it. I've tried a few things (like clearing the play store cache etc). But nope that didnt work. Not a big deal if I dont fix it, I wont use it (it's ES file manager). Decided to get one, since the phones I've had have been crap. And I can use it for the dvd players here It looks like this is a Lollipop bug / screwup, NOT an app prob

2015-12-26 20:18:00 | I use lollipop and ES file manager on my Nexus 7. If you haven't put much on it yet do a factory data reset and try again. Or see if this is useful from here forum.xda-developers.com Code 505 is a permissions code. This typically means that the APK file already exists in your /data/app folder. You'll need to locate the APK files in question in the /data/app folder and remove them. You will need root to perform this action. You came across this problem because you didn't do a wipe of your userdata partition when you jumped from Kitkat to Lollipop. I encountered the same issue because of that reason. I just ended up wiping and starting fresh as my phone hadn't been wiped since I got the device last November.

2015-12-26 20:51:00 | Yeah it seems to work ok on mine, as much as anything does. Upgrading a 2012 nexus 7 to lollipop was a mistake in general, it's just not up to the task. edit: and sorry yes it's all up to date with the latest version

2015-12-26 23:03:00 | Mine works OK. Only problem I encountered is WhatsApp video playback repeats itself when it finishes as in my other thread (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) No big deal, other than a little annoying at times.

2015-12-26 23:17:00 | Nup resetting it did nothing same error. Think I'll leave it. I could install that adb whatever it is and try. But cant be bothered. I dont need ES file explorer anyway. Too bad you cant uninstall it tho. Unless you can somehow root this tablet Are there 3 apps on your phone called dragonaging, dragonfire and dragonphone? Dont know if theyre part of Lollipop or not. Dont know why theyre on this. Looks like theyre for phones. This table doesnt have a sim card slot.

2015-12-26 23:28:00 | You can't uninstall it? it isn't part of android so if that's true the manufacturer must have made it part of their distribution. I can uninstall it off my nexus. There always seems to be some kind of file management included though. Maybe check for a firmware update for the tablet, but if it's a permission error and it's part of the distribution maybe that's the issue. What's the proper word for uninstall? The spell checker doesn't like that one.

2015-12-27 00:15:00 | According to some sites, it's either a conflict or permission error. Yup can't ES file manager on this. No uninstall option. The fw is up to date now. Updated it the other day. May get in touch with Unisurf and ask them how to remove it. If they've added it

2015-12-27 00:34:00 | Decided to send an email . I purchased the 10.1 tablet the other day. When I went to run ES file explorer it said there was an update. Only prob was it brought up an error -505, which by the looks of it, this is either a conflict or a permission prob. Did someone install this app somehow?? Because, you can’t update it, and you can’t uninstall it (but should be able to) Whoever the bright spark was, who thought of doing this. Do you have any idea on how to fix it so I can update it? Or how I can uninstall it, so I can update it The other question is, WHAT does dragonaging, dragonfire and dragonphone do? All 3 sound dodgy to me if they directly call phone numbers and read your contacts card. Altho, whats the point in having these. This tablet doesn’t even use a sim card (unless it’s hiding somewhere)
