1412590 2015-12-10 23:28:00 People still use SMS?

I thought everyone had already moved over to Whatsapp...

1412592 2015-12-11 01:00:00 "WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS" - which means you use data from your expensive data plan.

That, plus the fact that my cell plan gives me unlimited SMS, and the fact that Whatsapp is now owned by Facebook, means it won't be installed on my phone anytime soon

1412594 2015-12-11 01:30:00 Yeah, I had a look at whatsup thingy.
Not really what I was after.
I've now installed mighty text on my mobile & tablet.
I'll see how works out.
Had tried it previously, but there was something that I didn't like at the time.
Was just hopping someone may have tried all 3 apps.

Data from expensive plan? For text messages, it's negligible. (And not an issue at all while you're on WiFi.)

SMS cost money especially for people overseas, still 20c a pop, right? Viber and Whatsapp are free and allow free calling, and are more convenient than Skype.
As far as being owned by Facebook... Most people have a FB account, pretty much everyone has a gmail account and Skype - so what's the big deal exactly - big evil corporations own all your data anyway.
