1412886 2015-12-16 15:50:00 Blimey someone got out of the wrong side of bed this morning.

Typical response about a product that they have only heard about from others. How can you honestly say you like or dislike a product if you have never tried it ?

i

I never said I liked it or not.
I don't like the ads - or other ads similar to that with silly claims in them.

However user reviews of a product a usually a good idea before buying, plenty of them around to see what the general opinion was - good or bad.

We did exactly the same, had a look online for reviews, and most were positive. Then we found out the mother inlaw had gotten some of the cheaper ones from a mall someplace, she loaned us one for a few weeks to try. It was defiantly a lot better than what we were using at the time. The next time the ad came on TV I wrote down the contact number and called them about a week later.
Actually quite surprised, I called on a Monday late in the afternoon and they arrived the following morning.

We followed what the instructions said as they are compressed into a small box, so the day after that we used them, never looked back since, so much better than anything else we have ever had, and were better than the loan / imitation one.

Beat the living crap out of it ( the pillow not memsahib) That softens them up a bit. We have to do that every once and a while, it loosens the foam up again and it can then be remolded to suit the persons likes.

1412893 2015-12-17 18:37:00 So can I deviate a bit?
Anyone had experience with body pillows?
I have arthritis in various bits and now there is a new thing - called frozen shoulder apparently.

This makes it hard to sleep - lying prone in any position....thought about a body pillow, I used a normal cushion to lie front of shoulder and arm on and that works sort of.

But then lying like affects the arthritic bits, don't want to spend the money on one though and then find it's not that great.

Thinking of the sort like on Trademe for pregnant or nursing ladies, the U shaped one.....
Wrap around - lean back on one bit - rest other bits on the other side was the theory anyway?

Do you know of anyone who would be able to loan you a pillow for a while to see if it works before buying one ?

Just did a search for Frozen Shoulder: Apparently Arthritis and Frozen Shoulder are not related, so maybe you got the wrong answer if you went to the Dr. Theres several articles when searching, but doing the wrong treatment I guess would only make it worse. 1412895 2015-12-17 22:59:00 WT shouldn't have time on his hands between fixing PC's and afternoon cuppa time

Been dying to try the drop test they show in TV, raw egg in a bag with the pillow on top, and a bowling ball dropped onto it. Well I dont have a bowling ball, but a full 3.3KG Fire Extinguisher dropped from 1.5 Mtrs should be close enough. :devil

Grrrrrrrr it worked, egg came out without a scratch :annoyed:

What puzzles me with the Ball Drop Test is how the egg when smashed...turns into yellow yolk or scrambled egg!!!!! PJ
