1412632 2015-12-13 21:17:00 They all look like amateurishly designed business logos to me.

I'm very happy with the old flag, why try to erase the past?

It is our anchor in the present for a future which is looking increasingly ominous.

1412635 2015-12-13 22:39:00 If the current flag doesn't reflect modern NZ then neither does an apartheid rugby team (Maori All Blacks), or the Haka

nor does sexist sports where men are simply not allowed to compete: Silver Ferns , woman's tennis, woman's rugby . Anyone would think its 1901 .
And why does Wellington need its own rugby team, discrimination based on location. Do they think they are better than us.
Why cant I join the Parliamentary Rugby team? more discrimination .

B8gger all this, lets just go back to the Maori flag .
Perhaps replace the union jack part of the flag by inserting the stars & stripes or Chinese flag .

1412636 2015-12-13 22:45:00 Acknowledging that men and women are different is not sexist. Having them compete in the same sport is ignoring the obvious physical differences.
Valuing one more than the other or paying them differently, that's sexist. Next you'll be wanting mens and womens boxing to be combined.

Edit: Did I just bite on a Joke?

None of it anything to do with the flag?

1412637 2015-12-14 00:33:00 Flag the whole thing I say and save what we can of the $26M allocated for the referendum.

And, don’t loose sight of the fact that the $26M allocated is only for the referendum.

It doesn’t include the cost of actually changing the flag at every government department, military base, school, all the government stationary, the list goes on and so does the cost.

Tell Key he can have 26 million photo opportunities instead, he’d like that. ;)

1412638 2015-12-14 01:41:00 Red Peak would not look out of place when compared to most African Countries if NZ was in Africa

The Press today's J BOWRON reckons the red peak is a naval thingy, "we need a tow".

1412639 2015-12-14 01:59:00 [QUOTE=B.M.;1236764]all the government stationary /QUOTE]

LOL: Neat freudian slip there B.M. :D

They are pretty inert most of the time and I don't think the country would be any worse off if they simply turned out the lights, shut up shop, and went home.

However I don't think there would be much in the way of stationery changes as the flag doesn't feature on much Govt. paperwork.

Personally, and like many others here, I think that Key is a manipulative 'richard' and is pursuing a personal agenda with the whole flag debacle. My kids don't want the flag to change, and nor do many of their friends. Fortunately they are adults, but it's a pity that voting is confined to adults only, why don't our future adults have a say in this matter as well?

Hopefully the status quo will win, then we can drag JK up a flag pole and let him flap.

NZ Under JK:..................

It's so bad, I ordered a Kiwiburger at McDonald's and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"

The economy is so bad that I got sent a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

The economy is so bad that CEO's are now playing miniature golf.

The economy is so bad that if the Bank returns your Card for "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them.

The economy is so bad Burgerfuel staff are ordering in Chinese for lunch.

The economy is so bad that parents in Remuera had to fire their nannies and learn their children's names.

The economy is so bad a boatload of Kiwis was caught sneaking into Fiji.

The economy is so bad Black Power is laying off Judges.

Cheers

1412640 2015-12-14 08:15:00 On the tv news tonight I'm sure I heard them say that Key has been given an NZ$13,000/year increase?????!!!!!

In America they are now paying just US$1.49/gallon, why are our prices remaining so high when the cost of a barrel is now about US$36????!!!!
