| 587820 | 2007-09-04 08:43:00 | After an auto update (microsoft), I'm now unable to use my computer. On startup it defaults to a user 'ASP.NET Machine Account' and wants a password (of which I have no idea). Computer was previously setup with no password and admin only user (so on startup was going straight to desktop). WinXP pro SP2 op system with antivirus, firewall, using adaware (at least weekly). Hopefully I've explained the problem coherently :) Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks |

| 587822 | 2007-09-04 20:47:00 | That's caused by installing some part of the .net framework, or an update (to .net). As Beeswax said, boot in safe mode, go into the "Administrator' accout, and have a look in the user accout settings. Hopefully your old user account is still there somewhere, and you should be able to delete the .net asp one. If your account isn't there, look in C:\Documents and Settings\*your user account name* and hopefully all your files are still there. Back them up, recreate your user account and you should be off smiling. |

| 587825 | 2007-09-06 07:02:00 | when you create a new user account, it no longer lets you log on as administrator. Either delete the ASP account, or create a new user account (in safe mode) | Greven (91) | ||
