587931 2007-11-19 12:36:00 Am having similar problems as listed in previous posts. I am running OpenSuse 10.2 (from a Linux format mag) with mixed success on the DG33BU (Networking is intermittant and the sound card doesnt work) I overcame the problem with an old soundcard.

I've been to the Realtek site and grabbed the Linux drivers:nerd: I'm not too clued up on messing with the kernel:confused:. Other distros just wont boot I think the problem is the SATA recognition. I managed to overcome that manually on OpenSuse on install.

If I'd have known B4 hand I woulndt have bought the board but the features looked great at the time. Having said that as hopefully drivers will be available in the new year.

587932 2007-11-19 21:54:00 The drivers for every feature on the board are now included in kernel 2.6.24. The current version is 2.6.24-rc3, and can be downloaded from here (www.kernel.org) [kernel.org].

Despite being an RC release, this kernel is extremely stable. There is no need to use third-party drivers for anything, they're all in the kernel.

587933 2007-11-30 11:39:00 About intel dg33bu IDE Controller:
it has ide from Marvell
lspci give
02:00 . 0 IDE interface: Marvell Technology Group Ltd . 88SE6101 single-port PATA133 interface (rev b1)

To install linux from ide device, boot kernel need Marvell IDE support (integrated or as module via initrd)

I tested it on Slackware 12 install, with 2 . 6 . 21 . 5 kernel .
default kernel of this distribution has no included Marvell Ide Support,
and after booting no ide devices and no distrib files access .

I build on other computer new kernel with same version, but integated Marvell IDE support, create new boot cd with this kernel and distrib files .
Installation was successfuly .

lspci give
00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82566DC-2 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 02)
I try with kernel 2.6.21.5 and 2.6.22.14 e1000 module,
but no success.
I use latest driver e1000 v. 7.6.9 from
sourceforge.net
and it working fine!
