587466 2007-09-03 12:33:00 want to run 2 anti virus for extra security, but they conflict. internet explorer wont open. is there a way to make them get along? Parrott (12771)
587467 2007-09-03 12:46:00 the short answer is no - and Norton has become so bloated most will now advise steering well clear of it.
One good antivirus is all you need, and trying to run 2 will nearly allways cause problems.
kaspersky should be fine - nod32 seems to be one of the best these days (thats what I use)

You will gain no extra security from running 2 AV programs - especially not with norton.
As already mentioned, NOD32 or kaspersky are the ones to go for.
But only use one, not both.

587469 2007-09-03 14:07:00 NOD32 isn't free so I would go with Avast over Kaspersky any day. NOD32 is the best if you're willing to pay.

And for the love of God, don't use Norton. You;re probably decreasing the security of your computer not to mention its speed.

587470 2007-09-03 19:56:00 You should have one anti-virus and at least two anti-spyware programs. pctek (84)
587471 2007-09-03 20:17:00 One thing I discoveredd the other day Norton's 360 is now also conflicting with other Antispyware programs. - Seems Norton's is becoming more of a pain ( if thats possible) wainuitech (129)
587472 2007-09-04 08:42:00 Thanks heaps for your advise Parrott (12771)
587473 2007-09-05 08:51:00 Nod 32 if you can afford it. Or Avast (or AVG) are excellent freeware. A bit repetitious I know !

587474 2007-09-05 11:34:00 I was using kaspersky before trying NOD and kaspersky seem to run very unstable on my machine.Randomly freezes the computer slow down the computer big time Ninjabear (2948)
587475 2007-09-05 14:29:00 And thats why we recommend Avast or NOD32 (AVG if you're desperate) beeswax34 (63)
