587331 2007-09-03 06:31:00 My admin password works but it will not work in a konsole as su.
How can I overcome this.

587332 2007-09-03 06:38:00 (K)Ubuntu uses sudo, so by default there isn't a root account. If you create a root account, then you can use su in a terminal window.

Why not just use sudo?

587333 2007-09-03 06:54:00 Type 'sudo su', that will do the trick for you. 'sudo bash --login' also works. Don't launch a shell directly with sudo, because your environment variables will be wrong. Erayd (23)
