588745 2007-09-07 03:04:00 We purchased a second hand computer with a D Link DWL-G520 wireless PCI Card installed. It was all working fine, but after we set up our own connection I mistakenly uninstalled the D Link Card. I've downloaded the correct Setup file from the D Link website, but can't seem to get it working again. The icon in the bottom toolbar keeps saying No Card Found.
Have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall, have even tried taking the PCI card out and starting from scratch but still no luck.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Step by step suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

588746 2007-09-07 04:35:00 Might sound stupid but - have you tried the card in a differnt PCI slot just in case the card / PCI slot happened to go faulty.

If you just uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers you may need to actually remove the card then see if it redects it again in a different slot.

588747 2007-09-07 07:52:00 Make sure the file you downloaded has the driver for the card included. You may find the download file was only the card software and no driver. What is the part number of the card? berryb (99)
588748 2007-09-07 08:21:00 Just to make sure you do have the correct drivers Look at the card and see if you have revision A or B how to check -Heres Revision A (files.dlink.com.au) Heres Revision B (files.dlink.com.au)
You have to have the right drivers.

Drivers for DWL-G520

Drivers for Revision A (www.dlink.com.au) 3488Kb

Drivers forRevision B (www.dlink.com.au) 14225Kb ( top one) - Assuming you have XP

Once you have the right drivers, extract them to a folder, say on the desktop, turn off PC.
(zipping utility in my sig if you dont have one)

Remove the card from the PC, turn it back on, install the right revision drivers. Turn off the PC, put the card back in, when you restart, it should pick up the card, select install automatically. Then just follow on screen instructions.

IF when you put the card back in, and IF it doesn't detect, then either the card is damaged, or the PCI slot is damaged. Turn off the PC, try another slot.
