| 588462 | 2007-09-06 02:05:00 | Just dragged out the May PC world and read a review on the Netgear EVA 700. It looks as though it might be just what I'm looking for, for showing my videos plus photos over my TV. Also have the choice of ethernet cable or wireless. The PC World review was fairly positive. I was just wondering, has anyone any experience with one of these or can recommend something similar, but better. www.netgear.com |

It didn't like the codec used. It also took a long time to boot up when first turned on. Seemed like about 1 min before you could use it. It also rebooted itself or crashed a few times but after doing a firmware update this seemed to be fixed. I would recommend that you use ethernet rather than wireless as it can be a bit jumpy sometimes when playing videos from a PC. I still wouldn't give up my modded Xbox with XBMC :D |

It will allow you to record and watch TV, watch any video file (if you have the right codecs installed), store and play your CD collection and other digital music and your digital photos. And you can use it as a normal PC as well. |
