| 588252 | 2007-09-05 07:38:00 | The next problem with the pc of a friend - it won't boot into windows (XP home) properly. It normally hangs at the screen that says welcome, or it gets just pastthat to show the desktop image and cursor, but not the shortcuts on the desktop, taskbar, start button or anything. It sometimes boots if I tell it to use last good config, and boots fine to safe mode. What could be the problem? |

| 588253 | 2007-09-05 07:41:00 | What was the last change to the PC eg software installed, hardware change? Seeing as you can get into Safe Mode, have you tried using System Restore? You can also have a look at the event viewer (Control Panel > Admin Tools) and see what errors that show at the time of the PC attempting to boot up. |
