588143 2007-09-05 06:02:00 I keep getting pop ups for AVsystemscare anti virus programme, Win anti virus programme and a disk cleaner prpgramme and cannot get rid of these. They get into the cookies and as much as I go into the Explore setting and delete these from the cookies, they keep coming back. I also use Windows Easy Cleaner to remove internet Temporary Files but still I cannot get rid of these pop ups and they keep telling me my computer is at risk.

Can anyone suggest a way to get rid of these pop-ups. I have a Nod 32 anti virus programme but it doesn't seem effective on this spyware.

I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

588144 2007-09-05 06:06:00 You should download HJT from Speedy's sig and run it then post the log report back here for a diagnostic.
You could also try running SpyBot which is free.

588145 2007-09-05 07:06:00 Sounds like you have a trojan .

Please download HijackThis (www.cyberanswers.org). It will create a directory folder for you in C\Program files. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.

Did or do you have an antivirus program called "Win Antivirus" If you do its actually loaded with spyware, this must be removed if it's installed.

I see you have Nod32 which is good, but its more of an antivirus than an antispyware, but it does a reasonable job of spyware.

Turn off System restore. Heres how if you don't know.

Right Click My Computer /Properties click System restore Tab / turn off Restore.
Some spyware hides in restore and thats why it returns.

Download Ccleaner and Spybot as advised in earlier posts, run them. (both are available from my sig)
Download Hijack This from Pancakes Link and run that/ post back the results. Speedy is great at sorting /advising what to remove.

Also look at Speedy's Sig (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)download the rougeremover and run it.

588147 2007-09-05 08:07:00 Get rogueremover in my sig. It SHOULD remove Winantivirus 06 and 07.

And other rogue programs.

I would get trojan remover too which is my sig. Update both and click on scan.

And post a hijackthis log after.

To see what else maybe on your system.

588149 2007-10-07 05:10:00 Try starting the Computer in Safe mode, keep pressing F8 when you first turn it on, Using the arrow keys move the curser until "Safe Mode" is selected, then press "Enter Key" - select Administrator account when given that option.

See if you can run the programs / trojan removers in safe mode.
