| 588708 | 2007-09-07 01:50:00 | Make sure you look carefully, as I have had the EXACT same problem with a workshop PC two days ago. It got screwed ( wont say how :D apart from its one I do when testing stuff) and I could see it on the network ( under "my Network Places") but all shares were not working. saying I didn't have permission XP Pro as well. Just did that instruction from the other forum, and bingo- fully sharing and working like its meant to. If you don't have that reg key then I would suggest you have a damaged registry, and thats your problem. No policy altering will do any good. Question: how far through the reg listing do you get before the next key/location is not there ? |

Had a clone of the hard drive from right after installation put that in and went to the policy part originally mentioned and in there was one simple user group missing from the other version "Everybody". Put the original drive back in went back 2 policies and added that. Must have somehow deleted it previously. O well it works now so i'm happy. :):) Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help!! |
