2007-09-12 11:01:00 | Thanks guys. I will try the suggestions on that site Wainui. No, I'm not using an IMAP email account.

2007-11-20 06:40:00 | I'm still having problems after working through the advice in Wainui's link. I worked through in order given, and the last thing I did was reset the identity, which should have reset the registry values to default values, but I still get the message "Message could not be deleted" a few times a night. I then have to close OE, re-open it and then I can delete the message. At least now the various folders are not empty when I open them.

2007-11-20 08:31:00 | Boy Had to look back at what I suggested :D Sounds like the Deleted Items folder may be damaged slightly still. Try this - Make a folder on the desktop so you can put things back if it doesn't work correctly. ---- Following the steps in Post Number 2, follow steps 1 to 5 this time when you have the store folder open select the Deleted Items dbx file only. (No Others) right click it, cut it then paste it to the desktop folder. Close the open folder(s) Reopen Outlook express, it should automatically recreate the Deleted items folder. Try deleting a mail, it should hopefully delete first time. If outlook Express wont open click start / run open the folder store and paste back the deleted items folder you cut before. Note: I just did a test on the above instructions and it worked perfectly. (recreated the deleted items folder). Let us know how you get on.

2007-11-22 05:50:00 | Unfortunately, the "Message could not be deleted" message popped up on the first email I tried to delete tonight.:( From what folder are you deleting the mails, Inbox, sent items, or the deleted items them selves. ? The folder thats having the mails deleted from may be corrupted slightly.

2007-11-22 06:18:00 | Thanks for keeping on this one guys. I delete the deleted folder contents on a regular basis, do a compact, etc. I have noticed tonight that I seem to be able to delete the message from the Inbox, but not from within the email itself. I am sure before I could not delete from the Inbox either.

2007-11-22 07:34:00 | Try this, may or may not help - click Start/run type in sfc /scannow Press Enter / or click OK. ( Note the space between ..c /sc...) This checks for damaged system files and attempts to repair them- It may ask for your windows CD so have it handy.
