588248 2007-09-06 01:23:00 What about giving the old media player a go.

Click on Start / Run / type in Mplayer2 and click OK.

Drap and drop an mp3 file into that and see if it crashes.

588249 2007-09-06 07:24:00 SurferJoe46 - maybe just provide links next time lol - as that was quite a long post.
Jams - In past times i have had WMP try to play a file, and when i couldn't it said exactly what the problem is here and closed.
Installing a codex pack fixed it for me. anyway :p

I don't agree . . . I pared it down to the vitals . . and this issue is very important . . a link to click doesn't always work . . and I am quite verbose anyway . At the least, I always try to be informative and concise . . even when I just c/p an article . . . sorry to offend you .

But to digress with you . . YES . . you could do a lot of things IN THE PAST . . but this is now and the bed partners of M$ and the Media Moguls in the US are dictating what you . . even YOU on that upturned tectonic plate called NZ will ultimately comply with too .

Sorry . . but there's bigger fish to fry here than you and me . . it's all to do with $$ and how we as ethernet travelers need to know the badhats from the goodhats .

WE are just the peripheral damage to the war of rights and security and DRMs .
