589617 2007-09-09 14:22:00 I have been unable to connect to my modem using my usb wireless adaptor and the modem is a negtgear D834G V2.The wireless is set to on with no encryption. The adaptor has its program and can tell me the wireless network available and I can clearly see "netgear' which is my wireless network with a 100% signal strength but I just can't connect to it.It keeps saying connecting but won't connect.

Can anyone explain the reason?

Thanks

589618 2007-09-09 14:28:00 ok don't worry.I just solved the problem.

but I had to manually type in the mac address and put it into allow list

Is this suppose to happen?

If say a laptop was to connect to the wireless modem.Where would I find the MAC address?

589619 2007-09-09 19:00:00 What MAC address did you have to enter where?

To find a MAC address open cmd and type ipconfig /all
