589136 2007-09-07 23:23:00 I have an ECS KT-600A mobo. All was fine until when changing out the soundcard I saw a small spark. Now when I try to fire up the PC I have no keyboard, mouse or video. Is there a fuse or reset button for this thing? Appreciate any help gang.

589137 2007-09-07 23:33:00 Welcome to PressF1 Zorrab- That small spark sounds like BIG problems. You may have shorted the Motherboard. Could be fried.

Where did the spark come from?

Try this - Remove the RAM and turn on the PC, see if you get a BEEEEP. if you don't its more than likely fried.

If it is fried, I think thats a old SKT A motherboard, long out of manufacture, could be impossible locating another one.

And not worth fixing, Cheaper to buy a replacement box (2nd hand that is)

Thanks for the quick responses.

589143 2007-09-08 16:56:00 Captain, I think she's fried! No beeeps! I'm guilty of having a newbie moment-alas she was still plugged in - forgetting the No.1 rule is very expensive. Thanks anyway gang.
