| 589988 | 2007-09-13 08:17:00 | Some laptop BIOS chips are SMD "soldered in" and not easily replaced. Given the age of the laptop, it's possible that repair may be more than the value of the laptop. BIOS flashing is always a risky venture, but on a laptop it us often safer because the laptop battery should supply power seamlessly if the mains goes out. Presumably the battery was stuffed? Why were you flashing the BIOS in the first place? |
