| 589630 | 2007-09-10 01:34:00 | Lol. Computer repair classes....... Lol. Yep. See? Ages.......... I'll agree with PCtek - if you have the ECS 945-PA board the closest thing to jumpers on that board are the jumpers for front audio. (#13 in the manuals description) & Clear CMOS Jumper ( #10) Can't change whats not there. I downloaded the manual to check. 1 year at a computer repair class and that couldn't be figured out - hope he didn't pay anything for the classes-- geeeees:groan: if he did he was ripped off. Regarding your board - I have a soltek board here from a customer, doing the exact same thing, saying its over clocked, reset BIOS, same thing Press F1 etc-even after a BIOS upgrade still the same, changed CPU ( the right one) no difference - Boards knackered. |

| 589633 | 2007-09-10 03:04:00 | should i just buy a new motherboard? is there a quick fix for a couple of days? cause im gonna have my neighbor look at it for me he is an expert on computers, he works on this all day at his job i was gonna have some other friend that does this for the army to look at it but he had to leave to the base like at 3am. should i just go asus? | deathracer (11825) | ||
| 589634 | 2007-09-10 04:41:00 | Before you purchase a new Board, you want to make sure it is actually dead first. To answer your question regarding a "quick Fix" if its dead its dead - end of story. Get some one who does know what they are doing and perform all the standard checks Is the power supply OK - try another one. Is the CPU seated correctly - not damaged (if it is it wont work in a new board either) Is the memory Ok and seated correctly Nothing shorting out the Board (if it was removed or moved). All cables connected correctly and seated. Just some of the standard checks an experienced person would do. As for brand if yours is dead - Asus are good but it may also depend on your budget as to what you get. Also depending on the chipsets and drivers it may require a reinstall or non - distruct reinstall. I'd suggest staying away from ECS - they are budget boards normally. |
