When I playback a HD Divx file, they show on my laptop screen but on the cloned screen on my TV, I just get a black "screen" where you would see it. The rest of the desktop displays fine. My TV is not High Def. So I assume this is why the High Def part is not shown. I am looking for a way to watch these files on my TV instead of the laptops screen. I assume that I will need a player to "down grade" the image. This would be cheaper than buying a new TV. Jeff. I work with dual screens, one a LCD TV that supports resolution up to 1080i and the other a LCD Monitor. I steer clear of using clone display, switch between whether I want output on big screen or 22 inch monitor. In answer to your ? yes, if you mean by HD 1280 x 720 resolution or greater nothing will display on your TV if it doesnt support those resolutions. To me to downscale to SD seems a lot of messing around and you miss out on a truly better image quality. Not sure about software players that can downscale on the fly to a standard definition as havent needed to do that. Though on BS Player have option that allows me select resolution which may do the trick. Re-encoding video to a lower (standard definition) resolution is another option, though quite a bit of messing around. |
