I recently got a phone that can only connect to a computer through infrared. Unfortuntaly I don't have my infrared receiver where I am at the moment, and won't for another two months. In the mean time, is there anyway I can use my TV tuner's infrared receiver (for its remote) as a substitute? |

Ah, no. If you want to connect the phone via IR, you'll need to buy an adaptor, something like this (www.trademe.co.nz) one. |

Unless you can hack the hardware and software somehow, no. Just buy a infrared receiver and use that. |

It depends. :D If the TV controller IR modules implements a standard irDA (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrared_Data_Association) protocol, and the phone uses the same prorocol, it should be easy.
If either of them doesn't, it won't be. :( |
