| 590628 | 2007-09-12 23:50:00 | With my old mx440 card everything was showing perfectly on TV but now with my new pc and NVIDIA 8600gt card when I connect to TV I have these problems: 1. White, bright horizontal stripes from text, folder corners and other places also in games!!! 2. Lightening changes every few second from bright to dark and then again from dark to bright, but only when I move my mouse or work with pc! 3. Every few minutes picture becomes black and white for a second, also in games!!   The 8600gt has 9pin out connection to that I connect component cable with 4 pin out on the other end and then to that 4pin out I connect s-video to scart cable! I have no idea what these bright stripes are called so I cant find anything in Google only thing that reduces a little bit, these stripes is if I set flickering to max, but then picture is to blurry!! Look in to picture at folder corner to see what Im talking about! photo2.poga.lv |

Crikey! Are those the same cables you used on your old MX440 card? Does your TV only have scart inputs? PS Welcome to PressF1! |

I use DVI out from my 8600GT Video Card to HDMI in on HDTV and the picture quality is excellent on HDTV . Otherwise, I would start with trying different drivers and see if that fixes the problem . There is a few things you can play with in the nvida control panel as well to see if you can get the picture to come right . One thing I did use in the past was TV Tool, that seemed to help with getting picture right on TV . |

Then go for trying alternative drivers if that doesnt solve the problem. Must admit in past have found out putting to TVs can be a bit problematic at times (except with my new setup that worked perfectly from day 1) but eventually manage to get it working properly. Not quite following your connection setup, but assume you have a s-video out on the 8600GT, mine has 2 x DVI & 1 x 9 pin S-Video. I would try to keep it simple. Is it possible to get a decent s-video cable thats s-video connections at both ends, one end being 9 pin & other being 4 pin?? Havent worked much with s-video connections in past so not sure about that my self. Then you can get an adapter, sure Dick Smith has them, the one I have here plugs into scart input which then allows a 4 pin s-video cable to be plugged into it, as well composite (yellow, white & red connectors). Or better still can you find same adaptor that allows for input of a 9 pin s-video connection! Just some ideas there that I would explore if I was you. |
