590566 2007-09-12 09:30:00 Those of you who have seen my previous posts will know I had trouble with my ASUS 1814BLT reading DVD+R. I've just downloaded a patch from the Asus website and it appears to be working fine now- but- Microsoft tell me I have to register again cos my hardware has changed. When I go to do this the site tells me I've exceeded the number of times that I can activate my Windows but its only been done once after the computer was put together. What do I do now? Clod (7853)
590567 2007-09-12 09:34:00 Strange it did that with a firmware (not driver) update, theyre different.

You'll have to ring them i guess.

Cant say Ive had this prob, just by updating the firmware.

What site?? Cant u just reactivate it from all programs?? Isnt there an activate option here??

The number I posted above Speedys is world wide open 24/7

If you tried to activate windows you will have gotten "pick a location" drop down box and the number is there. 0800 676 334 Option 2 when you call.

I even rang at 1.30 am one night / Morning (rush job)

Why that changed the activation is strange - it shouldn't have.

OHHHH it gets better, 9 times out of ten you end up in any country apart from NZ , I been to USA / Japan ( that was fun) other parts of Asia.
Had one lady from USA deciding she wanted to know all about NZ as she had heard it was so Green and friendly - Glad MS footed the toll call.

590574 2007-09-12 10:12:00 Thanks Folks, I'll ring the NZ number after work tomorrow. The overseas one lost me straight away asking for the 1st set of 6 digits. My code only has sets of 5. Clod (7853)

I rang at midnight not too long ago, I ended up calling a physical person to properly activate it.

Got to admit, she did a damn good attempt at speaking with a yankee accent but the Indian accent was too strong.
