2007-09-15 01:08:00 | The cursor wont stop flicking when I'm using word. Using Internet explorer the website disappear when I click in the address field. If I try to type 2 portrait rectangles appear. I'm using word 2007 and vista business. I have searched the net but couldn't find anything that helped. | Brawnie (12829) | |
2007-09-15 01:44:00 | Welcome to PressF1 Brawnie. Just done a quick bit of looking and the one thing that pops up every time is the graphics can not keep up with whats open. The item I found about word 2007 was similar - (another forum) "The icon indicates that "Check spelling as you type" is operational. Flickering in general just means that Word has too many balls in the air for the video driver to keep up with. Does the same thing happen if you switch to Normal view?" All posts I found regarding the problems with IE were with the Beta and RC versions of Vista. Can you post back your PC specs Please, along with what Antivirus and antispyware software you have.

2007-09-15 02:06:00 | Update - If you have a ATI graphic card you may need to update the drivers. See This Forum for details (forums.microsoft.com) Your two problems will more than likely be related - fix one should fix the other. | wainuitech (129) | |
2007-09-17 09:46:00 | I don't have an ATI graphic card but I did update my drivers for the graphic's card but that didn't stop the problem. Unchecking "Check spelling as you type" didn't help. It's not the antivirus software as I have 2 PC's. Both are running vista and office 2007. The lower spec computer doesn't have an issue only the higher spec computer. Problem PC Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 CPU 6400 @2.13ghz Memory 2023MB I have vista business installed on both machines. The graphics card on the machine I'm having problems on lets you use the more advanced things. Like a ghosting of the window behind. Yes I too believe the problems are related.

2007-09-18 03:17:00 | I saw something about this as being caused by a screenshotter or keylogger hack running on your system....but that was a while back and I don't remember where I read it. It was because something was trying to timeshare the cycles and it showed up as flicker on the pointer/mouse thing. My memory ( ) is pretty sure of this, but I cannot remember where I read it...it was just a passing interest to me at the time so I didn't make a mental file on it. Hmmm...is it possible that Kim Komando said it?

2007-09-18 03:36:00 | What Antivirus / antispyware do you have on the PC thats playing up ? Download HijackThis (www.trendsecure.com) run and save the scan, then copy /paste the results back here - Someone will look and see if there's any known bugs in the system causing any problems.
