Indeed - that was my point.

Although going and buying a dual layer DVD-R would be an even better idea. Then it's just half an hour maybe of burning, and put it in and leave it.

I can't think of a more unproductive use of time than sitting at a laptop for hours feeding in 11 CD's when it asks for them...

Most PC techs learn the art of getting other stuff done while they wait for computers to do things. It's not like Speedy has to literally sit at the laptop for half a day.

This way, it's basically guaranteed success, and if it's for a client it's chargable time (note that I'm not saying "it doesn't matter that it's a waste of time - the client is paying" - I actually think it's the best use of time for this problem).

591055 2007-09-14 19:38:00 lol well FINALLY I got it going. In the end, I decided to burn those 11 ISO's.

Or else I'll be waiting to buy a DL DVD blank, or ringing HP for a DVD.

And got it restored to its original state.

Damn, they could have put a faster hdd in it, besides a 5400 rpm.

I was going to sleep, restoring the bloody thing.

Killed Adobe reader, and installed Foxit, killed NIS 2006 (since it was only for 2 mths)! Couldnt they spar it, and installed Avast.

Removed the old version of Sun, installed the latest version.

Umm, no wonder it couldnt move, with 138 mostly trojans onboard!

This time, I'll TELL them not to install Limewire, its nothing but a bloody headache, and they'll be paying for it next time.

Lucky, I've got most or all of the updates for it, there's 70 of them to instal!

Thanx for the help guys, appreciate it!
