591233 2007-09-15 10:32:00 How do you do it tho ? i cant connect the two.. russell108 (7499)
591234 2007-09-15 12:23:00 If you connect through Ethernet, just get a ethernet cable and plug one end into the laptop and one end into the PC. They should be displayed then in My Network Places/Network (Vista).

If you want to do it wirelessly, then you will need to right click on My Computer/Computer and then in the workgroup box, enter the same name into both computers and then restart them. All you have to do then is again go to My Network places and they should be viewable.

Your firewalls might cause a few hiccups, I'm sure someone else will tell you how to make sure that ZA allows that PC-Laptop connection to go through.

591235 2007-09-16 09:54:00 Its all gone very wrong...I tried the ethernet cable but no joy (in the XP it says Network cable unplugged)
In Vista it says unidentified network ,limited conectivity

I tried wireless, renaming the workgroups but no joy there either...as a result ,i dont know what i did but i now cant connect to the internet from the laptop...

there doesnt even seem to be a way of reinstalling the wireless modem...what a drag

591239 2007-09-18 10:19:00 It tells u in the link what it does

Here (support.microsoft.com)

Have you configured them at all? Is the wireless modem, an access point?

And have you added both to ZA if ZA is on both now??

591240 2007-09-18 11:31:00 Not sure what an access point is..its got 4 ethernet ports at the back if that means anything ? russell108 (7499)
591241 2007-09-18 11:45:00 So, have u got anything else thats wireless?

If you havent then you cant use the wireless option.

You have to get some ethernet cable for whatever and then configure the network.
