591223 2007-09-14 13:15:00 My PC (XP Home) has ZoneAlarm security suite installed, will this cover my laptop (Vista premium) via the wireless modem ? or do i have to buy zonealarm for Vista separately ? russell108 (7499)
591224 2007-09-14 14:30:00 No, the suite on the PC will definitely NOT cover the laptop unless you're moving files between them and just that. You will definitely need to buy ZA for the laptop.

If I may make a suggestion, get Avast Home AV and wait for Comodo to release their firewall for Vista. They are both free and MUCH better than ZA.

591225 2007-09-14 16:55:00 Thanks, do you know when the comodo vista firewall will be released ? russell108 (7499)
591226 2007-09-14 18:08:00 the firewall will only work on the computer it's installed on drcspy (146)
591227 2007-09-14 22:04:00 If you don't want to wait for Comodo the free version of ZA works fine on Vista. There are two versions one the full package or The download is a installer only, it automatically selects your OS and installs the correct version.
The free Vista can be hard to find as they want $$$ of course. When installing simply select Free Version - Download link Here for free ZA (www.pcworld.com)

Not quite sure though I have signed up to their alert system which will let me know as soon as they do. You could do the same on their website as well.

591229 2007-09-15 01:36:00 I have ditched my ZA SS which I purchased about 12 months ago, running on XP. Too many lockups freezes slow downs etc. Comp use to sometimes take 20 mins to bootup. Now useing Comodo freeware. Comp takes under 5 mins to boot now.

what the easiest way to transfer files from my PC to laptop ? can i do it wirelessly ? I have a yellow ethernet cable too, is it easier to use that ?

591232 2007-09-15 10:15:00 Ethernet would be faster and more stable certainly than wireless. Try that or if you have time and just want to lie back and do it, use wireless:D beeswax34 (63)
