| 592998 | 2007-09-19 22:17:00 | Hi all, my neice typed 2 full pages of material on a Win98 machine, she put all this info on to a floppy [as her printer is nackered] & she brought it around to me to print out on my pc [with XP OS system], when i open it up , its a lot of mumbo jumbo, like this [ §¯^A"¤|tZy\zÇßÎþöU4 *PID ] I can't work out how to get this back to normal English print, i checked out the document properties and its an ODT file, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Rony |

For her to be able to do this, (on her PC) open Open Office, click on tools/options/load-save/general. Under the document type select Text Document, and under always save as select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP, then click OK, and resave the document. I think you installing OO might be a bit easier. You can download it from here (http://www.openoffice.org/), but you will need to have broadband. |
