| 592664 | 2007-09-19 08:08:00 | Hi I am looking at upgrading to widescreen lcd probably 22" as the budget allows wouldn't mind a 24" but the price jump from 22 - 24 seems excessive. Have been considering a Samsung Syncmaster 226BW aswell as a Chimei 222H Any advice would be welcome, budget any where from $400 - $600 will be used for a mix of general everyday computing and some gaming. Thanks |

The only downside is that the stands are not very adjustable and you'd probably need to have it raised up off the desk. I think most screens now will be fast enough for 'normal' gaming... ghosting is pretty much a thing of the past. |

The widescreen telly then stretches it all out to fit. It looks terrible. Yet somehow droves of people are buying them... sigh... Stick to 19" regular 4:3 format. |

Thanks The Samsung Syncmaster 226BW LCD panel is made by Chimei, so you may as well buy the cheaper one |

| 592671 | 2007-09-19 23:45:00 | Whats with all this anti wide screen faggotry? its 2007, get with the times already. widescreen will soon be the only cheaper option for 19" & above. Compare the trends of spec & price of normal aspect screens. If you want the best then get a 19" CRT. If you want to be realistic get a LCD. If you want a cheaper bigscreen option go w/s. The Samsung Syncmaster 226BW has actually used 3 (possibly 4) different panels inside them. Not just a Chimei panel. Its not a high end/pro quality screen, but good enough unless you want to pay $800+...... I bought one yesterday. www.trustedreviews.com |
