| 592564 | 2007-09-19 05:58:00 | Ok funny situation. Im back to living with my mother... I setup the broadband and wireless there about 1.5 years ago. Modem/router is the basic dsl502T and I setup a netgear wgr614 router as the access point, not the router. The dsl502T is the DHCP server (10.1.1.x) I want to change the wireless encryption on the netgear but I cannot remember what (fixed) IP address I assigned to it! ive tried an IP scanner but no luck, nor does routerlogin.com go to the login page. I have tried the default IP on the bottom of the netgear too. Id rather not reset the netgear, because it was a b***h to setup with the dsl502t. So... any ideas? Cheers |

| 592565 | 2007-09-19 06:15:00 | What was the IP scanner that you used? AngryIP Scanner? What network settings did you tell it to scan? It would take a while to scan from 10.1.1.1 to 10.254.254.254 on subnet 255.0.0.0! |

| 592566 | 2007-09-19 07:01:00 | Try this scanner Here (www.angryziber.com) enter in the IP range to start with Eg; 10.1.1.1 to 10.1.1.255 It found my wireless access point in seconds and the SSID is visible. While it wont tell you the exact address it will narrow it down to a few. The more PC's that are on the more to chose from. Hope its of some help. |

| 592568 | 2007-09-19 07:08:00 | I tried that as well  :groan: Gave the default gateway, and the wireless laptops IP, but not the access point (bummer) I know my access points IP is 192.168.1.2 - gave the Default gateway of 192.168.1.1 and IP of 192.168.1.21 to the laptop. | wainuitech (129) | ||

Cheers That router is an absolute B**** to setup. The CD is about as useful as an ISP helpdesk.... (Xnet excluded of course!! :D) However, once set up, it is as solid as a rock, never drops wireless connection at all. Open up command prompt (if using Windows 2000/XP) and type ipconfig /all It should tell you everything you want to know about your IP addesses |

| 592571 | 2007-09-19 09:26:00 | No, ipconfig /all will only give you the IP address mac address and all the other info from the machine that you ran the command from. If connecting through the wireless router however, ipconfig SHOULD tell one what it's IP address is. |

Nope see my post a couple up, you can ping it if you know the address, but thats whats required :groan: that scanner I posted above should do it maybe, hopefully, sometimes I'll try to post a link to a pic to show what it does, but imageF1 is knackered at the moment |
