593011 2007-09-20 07:55:00 Downloading Open Office for just one file is overkill. Simply ask the sender to save it as a Word file (*.doc) and resend, or if it doesn't have any fancy formatting, ask them to save it as a text file (*.txt) and resend it to you.

There's no point in loading up your computer with an alternative office suite for just one file.

Simple solutions are faster and safer.

Cheers

593012 2007-09-20 23:49:00 There are plugins for MS Office:

www.sun.com
http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/

Either of these will allow you to read ODT files.
