2007-09-17 11:41:00 | Chunwai, forget the overclocking for now - there's no point in trying it until you have a stable system. Reset everything back to the defaults, and follow these steps (and answer the questions). What is the exact error that is shown on the BSOD? What do you mean by 'clean copy' - do you mean a completely fresh install of Windows after formatting the drive? What antivirus, firewall, antispyware/adware applications do you have on your computer? Some of these conflict with each other. Have you played any CDs from SonyBMG that were released in 2004 or 2005? Many of these contained a rootkit with a filter driver that could cause a BSOD and/or malfunctioning of the CD drive - this problem can appear to be a hardware fault when it's actually the filter driver screwing things up. Do you know how to monitor your system temperatures? If do can you tell us what kind of results you are seeing when the system is idle - please include results for the graphics card too if possible. What are the same system temperatures when under heavy load? Remove all sticks of ram except one, then run Memtest86 (memtest.org) for at least two full cycles. Report if it finds any errors. Repeat the above step for each additional stick of ram, make sure you only have one stick in the machine at a time. Run HijackThis (www.trendsecure.com) and post the complete logfile here.

2007-09-17 11:47:00 | isass.exe This is a very suspect filename. Google "isass.exe" (like I just did...) to find out more. If you have just installed XP then it won't hurt to just do a clean install and make sure the first thing you do is update XP. If you are using a non-legit copy of XP then you won't be able to update your installation and you are no your own as far as this forum goes. With that CPU and that motherboard you will be able to achieve very good overclocks - 3.2 GHz without even trying probably.

2007-09-17 12:07:00 | Sure it's not lsass.exe? (the real one) remember capital I and lowercase l can often look exactly the same depending on the font. | Agent_24 (57) | |

2007-09-17 19:35:00 | 0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED This occurs when Windows switches into kernel mode and a user-mode subsystem, such as Winlogon or the Client Server Runtime Subsystem (CSRSS), is compromised. Security can no longer be guaranteed. Because Win XP cant run without Winlogon or CSRSS, this is one of the few situations where the failure of a user-mode service can cause the system to stop responding. This Stop message also can occur as a result of malware infestation or when the computer is restarted after a system administrator has modified permissions so that the SYSTEM account no longer has adequate permissions to access system files and folders.

2007-09-17 20:57:00 | -I wrote the exact error on the bottom of page 1.please take a look -Yes i reformatted the pc about 4-5 times what i mean by "clean copy"is that it does not have all the useless stuff that are bundles with the normal xp this is smaller adnd doesnt include the things that are not needed. -the anti virus im using it pc anti virus, windows firewall -i havent played any cd's in general -it runs at about 55 at the normal clock rate(which is really unusual compares to my other pc's) -the temp at heavy load is between 62-72 -i have already tested each stick of ram and it runs fine for all of them (24hrs each) -there shouldnt be viruses as the system is only 1 day old -also i would like to add that when i run the vide card stability test the pc restarts within a min..?? what does this mean?? thanks for all your help but please gimme more advice as i am not a software person.. Thanks all
