592998 2007-09-19 22:17:00 Hi all, my neice typed 2 full pages of material on a Win98 machine, she put all this info on to a floppy [as her printer is nackered] & she brought it around to me to print out on my pc [with XP OS system], when i open it up , its a lot of mumbo jumbo, like this [ §¯^A„"¤|tZy\zÇ•ßÎþöU ‡4 *PID ]

I can't work out how to get this back to normal English print, i checked out the document properties and its an ODT file, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Rony

593005 2007-09-19 22:51:00 Either you install Open Office, or get your neice to save the document in .doc format.

For her to be able to do this, (on her PC) open Open Office, click on tools/options/load-save/general.

Under the document type select Text Document, and under always save as select Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP, then click OK, and resave the document.

I think you installing OO might be a bit easier. You can download it from here (http://www.openoffice.org/), but you will need to have broadband.

593007 2007-09-19 23:10:00 You DON'T have to have BB, just coz the file is big, but it helps.

It'll just take longer on dialup.
