and available for linux to, I'm actually using it right now to write a few letters and I must say i like the layout of it,

and it has tabbed documents - which is seriously cool (ok well i have never seen it before)
I believe it is using the underpinning of openoffice with a different interface thingie

592683 2007-09-19 11:46:00 Crikey! - I was using Symphony in 1983 - when 1-2-3 was king and 10Mb HDDs were rare and hugely expensive.
Now IBM/Lotus are in the ODF camp - what a turnaround...

592684 2007-09-19 23:30:00 Hmmm, are there any torrents around for this? I did a bit of searching and I couldn't find any, but IBM's download server is unbelievably slow - 15KB/sec :groan:. Erayd (23)
592685 2007-09-20 01:24:00 I remember using Symphony in the 80s :)

I haven't tried this new version yet, but plan to in the next few weeks.

592686 2007-09-20 01:24:00 thats a bit slow, it was fairly fast yesterday, but then again i started the download and then headed off for dinner

Apart from the name this has absolutly nothing in common with the old lotus symphony, I think that is still being sold under the smartsuite moniker

592687 2007-11-02 01:44:00 I'm trying out the Lotus Symphony beta too. So far so good - but if anyone can tell me how to address an envelope with it I'd be delighted to hear. Many thanks.

592688 2007-11-02 01:56:00 Owing to recent Operating system bereavement, i don't actually have it installed

You could try the lotus symphony forums (symphony.lotus.com), there were some support docs to but i can't find them now

edit

aha i don't believe it is in this version, slated for a future release (symphony.lotus.com)
