594108 2007-09-23 03:35:00 I have a problem that has only just occurred. My desktop shortcuts to URL's are preceded with a Window saying:-
Windows cannot find (the URL) make sure you typed the name correctly and
then try again etc. I click OK to the get rid of the window and although I get to the URL this window is annoying. Strangely enough the only shortcut that works ok is the one to F1. Any clues please.?

F1 is my homepage so guess that would explain why that shortcut is not bringing up the message.

For paradise.net when I right click and properties I get
http://www.paradise.net.nz/
All the URL's appear to work ok it is just that I keep getting the dam Windows message which I have to close each time.

594115 2007-09-24 06:13:00 What happens if you change the www.paradise.net.nz/ to http: (remove the www part) in your shortcut?

Just trying to work out the difference between the OK PressF1 shortcut and the problem ones.

Jen, I have woken up. F1 is my home page. I fixed the problem by uninstalling everything connected with Firefox and then reinstalled and the problem is fixed.I am still not sure what caused the problem but suspect it was after an update of Firefox. Thanks for you help. Cheers.
