| 593266 | 2007-09-20 08:58:00 | Hi. I bought a web cam vx1000 to communicate with our friends in Brisbane. The first night it worked really well. The next night "loading your video call" it would load for about10secs then say ..your video call has ended. Our friends in Brisbane received the same message when they tried to contact us. This has gone on for two days. Also in the video box that shows my video the speakers are crossed out. ("MUTE YOUR SPEAKERS"Does anyone have any ideas? | gradebdan (2186) | ||

| 593270 | 2007-09-21 08:48:00 | Found a couple of artices with same sort of problems you are having. If the speakers / video are crossed out Messenger may not be detecting them correctly. The solution to several of the others problem was to rerun the Setup. {quoted} You need to go onto MSN/Live Messenger and make the main window full screen so the menu appears at the top. Click on 'Tools', then click on 'Audio and Video Setup'. Go through this and problems solved.{end} May work, at least it will tell you if your Cam and Messenger are on speaking terms, or the problem lays else where. |

| 593271 | 2007-09-21 09:08:00 | Also found this on messenger help - dont know if it relates to your problem or not: {Quoted MS} If you are having problems with the voice or video connection, or with a slow file transfer rate, your computer or your contact's computer might be behind a network address translator (NAT) (A device that is used to connect more than one computer to a single Internet connection, sometimes called a router.) or a firewall. To fix this problem, you must enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) (A popular standard for connecting computers to devices that allows compatibility among a wide variety of networking devices.) on your NAT or purchase a NAT that is UPnP enabled. Also, you may need to upgrade your NAT firmware (A combination of hardware and software in a self-contained device, such as a network address translator (NAT) or a router.) . |
