594101 2007-09-23 11:04:00 sounds like yet another reason to not install it on the first place....

my most amusing experience with norton was installing it, finding it made the poor machine run like an absolute dog, uninstalling it and finding it booted and ran faster than before i installed it...

so, anyway, by my reckoning you're screwed but may wish to do a windows repair before a full blown reinstall (to save the customers files etc if at all possible - i mean the repair that is basically a reinstall)

594102 2007-09-23 16:51:00 seen this before:

had Norton 360 installed and it was giving no end of trouble with blocking all internet traffic even though it was set to allow

had a hell of a job figuring it out in the end but what you need to do is to disable 'transaction monitoring' within the norton360 program that'll fix it .....

594103 2007-09-24 00:44:00 Guess what ? - IT'SSSSSSSS BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK:groan:

Bit of an update, some how Norton is reinstalling over night . The PC is left on, and when the guy went to bed at 11 . 30pm it was fine, come back in the morning and its changed .
It has something to do with dates / days changing . I'll look at the event logs to see if anything obvious .

Nuking it on Thursday .

594104 2007-09-24 03:00:00 I wonder what Symantec would do if all the tech's billed them for the unchargable time spent pissing around trying to get rid of Nortons... Enigmur (10547)
