593901 2007-09-22 04:01:00 You sure joinme.exe isnt a trojan or worm?

Whats the point in using joinme when Mirc is an IRC client?

Because there is a backdoor trojan / or adware / spyware which uses the file joinme.exe

593902 2007-09-22 20:26:00 Backdoor.Delf.hf belongs to Backdoor spyware category.
It's presense means that your computer is infected with malicious software and is insecure.

This Backdoor is also known as:
•Backdoor.Delf.hf.
• JoinMe.exe

JoinMe is a Private IRC server and is not a trojan.

http://joinme.sourceforge.net

It has been working successfully for three years until i went broadband and the router is stopping it from working but i have no idea why.

I dont want to have to go to a DMZ on the router although the pc running the daemon is only for that purpose.

593905 2007-09-23 00:10:00 Oops u replied

Anyway, so the only reason for using joinme, is coz you have to configure mirc thru the router to use the dcc ports or something?

If u want secure irc, get the ssl libraries and login to a secure server!

Since Mirc supports SSL.

It may be the program its self is no longer supported . Found this -
It provides most of the IRC commands supported by specification of RFC 1459 and it's compatible with mIRC . Also supports a communication with external DLL plug-ins which act like BOTs on the IRC server .

However, DLL BOTs are deprecated and may not be supported in the long distant future . Use third party BOTs like EggDrop . From this download site Here at Softpedia ( . softpedia . com/get/Internet/Servers/Other-Servers/JoinMe . shtml" target="_blank">www . softpedia . com)
