594500 2007-09-24 19:47:00 I know he's just changed his email address, so any hints on what to look for?

Also happens to me with another friend, I get 2 of anything he sends me.

Mailwasher only shows one of each in its list.
Thanks.

594501 2007-09-25 12:09:00 Do you have any email rules set? This can sometimes duplicate emails when rules conflict... johcar (6283)

I should have mentioned that I'm using Outlook 2003.Have done a search for the following files but no go.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, rename the Pop3uidl.dbx file, and then restart Outlook Express. Follow these steps:
1. Click Exit on the File menu to quit Outlook Express.
2. Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
3. In the Search for files or folders named box, type Pop3uidl.dbx, and then click Search Now.
4. Under Search Results, right-click the Pop3uidl.dbx file, and then click Rename.
5. Type Pop3uidl.old, and then press ENTER.
6. To start Outlook Express, click Start, point to Programs, and then click Outlook Express.

This has only started since he has moved to a new address and no one else has told him that it's happening to them. These messages are from a group setting I think. If he sends me a one off direct to me I only get one.
:badpc:
Any more ideas? Thanks.

594505 2007-09-25 19:58:00 Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express

It can happen where you are being sent multiple copies but if mailwasher is only showing one copy then you can discount that.

As mentioned remove any mail rules set up in your mail program to isolate problems with these.

Check if you have duplicate accounts setup which will pop the same account twice.

If the account is set to leave mail on the server, set it to remove from the server.

Disable any antivirus incoming mail scan to isolate a problem with this.

If you are storing a large number of messages in your Inbox delete of move them to another folder.

If mailwasher or webmail is showing the same message multiple times it is a problem on the senders end.
I have heard of this happening when they are using Outlook 2007 but not sure what is causing it.

594507 2007-09-26 00:34:00 Neil could you just confirm you have no rules set in outlook for incoming mail as I had a similar problem caused by my rules in outlook Morgenmuffel (187)
594508 2007-09-27 05:56:00 Thanks Nigel.
I've had a look around and the only thing I thought mightn't be right was......
as he sent me emails from his new address I made a new rule to move them into his folder. Some didn't move so I made another rule on that one as well.
So I ended up with all these rules.Have deleted them and back to one and looks like the problem has gone. Same with my cousin, he had two rules, so now I will wait and see if I get 2 from him from now on.
Thanks for your help everyone.
