594277 2007-09-23 19:30:00 My computer became painfully slow downloaded several reccomended cleaning tools registry etc The computer speed is now back to its former self when locating files stored on the computer.
However when accessing the internet it can take up to two minutes to find my bank account or 1 minute to access Google.
I am using Woosh wireles and its download speed is between 1.2 kb/s and 2 depending on the time of day. I complained to Woosh and the gave me the latest Wireless modem any suggestions of where the problem may be.

Nortons? PC-Cillin?

594279 2007-09-23 21:28:00 As Deane F said, get something like Avast AV and Comodo firewall which dont impact your speeds and bandwidth anywhere as much as Norton or ZA.

I'm also on Woosh wireless, and it just is crap. Theres nothing too it but 1.2 - 2 kbps would be a new record, even for them. Get on the phone and start complaining and have either a external antenna and/or a technician sent out to you.

Cheers :)

594281 2007-09-28 22:41:00 if you are not using the booster aerial, its probably good to, depending on distance from the woosh tower you are. we have attached our aerial to the TV antenna, and dont have any problems, apart from only having 5gb cap :(.

so make sure you are not capped. and that there is no low cloud cover / other atmospheric crap that can clog up your precious air ways for data transfer.

failing that complain lots to woosh. ive found that taking the battery out and the power to make sure it resets properly works.

594282 2007-09-29 10:06:00 You got anything like Skype active that could be using it?

I've seen that with Woosh though - regardless of where the tower was, lack of stuff in the way, fine days, etc etc.

Woosh just sucks.
