595816 2007-09-27 23:39:00 Hi there,

Im looking to build my first case mod (man I hate the old beige ones)
Hopefully it will be made out of wood and perspex, but I am aware that perspex holds a static charge. I am wondering if there will be any significant risk to my parts. Also any suggestions for my case would be welcome. Please keep in mind that I have never had any experience at this before:)
Cheers :D

Also, just for some inspiration, check out the Doom 3 Case Mod (www.thebestcasescenario.com) from The Ultimate Case Scenario.

To view a picture of the finished mod, see this (www.imagef1.net.nz).
Its quite amazing!

Welcome to PressF1 AMDude - best of luck in making your own case - not a lot of people would even try it. - Well Done.

If you get a copy of NZ PC World (latest Issue October) and look on page 49 top right hand corner someone has done exactly what you have asked.

Many cases have Perspex sides, in fact some are completely perspex - Real Bug*er to keep clean though I would imagine. See Here (www.pccasegear.com.au) or Here (cgi.ebay.co.uk QcmdZViewItem)

I can't resist this sorry - only joking - but if you make it out of wood, make sure every thing is aligned 100% <(thats serious) Other wise it "Wooden go"

*May I suggest you wear an apron whilst using woodworking tools, this should keep your "parts" safe:D
