| 595201 | 2007-09-26 08:51:00 | Hi I have decided to post this thread to plead for your help to solve an issue I have had for nearly a year now. Xtra is about has helpful as a rubber hammer and don’t seem to care:angry . For nearly a year now I have had issues with my internet connect "dropping out". What happens is the ADSL light goes out and then usually a couple of seconds it starts flashing and connects again. I am not sure if this is a widespread issue or if it is just me. Could someone please help me it is becoming very annoying and disruptive making it impossible to do anything on the internet. I have an Xtra supplied D-Link DSL 502-T I have not altered any setting or changed any part of it. (don’t know how to) All phone jacks and sky have filters attached Please please please help me get this finally sorted. When the problem first started I was using a D-Link DSL 302-G, Xtra then sent me the replacement 502-T which was ment to fix it. It didn’t and since then they have not wanted to help. Cheers Jesse |

| 595202 | 2007-09-26 08:56:00 | Sorry I can't help But I have similar dropping out problems with a Dynalink RTA1320. It has five lights but I do not know if they are all supposed to be on all the time or flicker when downloading etc. Sometimes I look at my modem and I only have 2 lights on. I find it hard to get onto the net sometimes and I think it may be due to a poor phone line as it is quite crackly sometimes. Sometimes I seem able to get on by picking up the phone and dialing someone and that seems to clear the line sometimes. I need your rubber hammer also. Regards Digby |

| 595206 | 2007-09-26 09:01:00 | Filters can become faulty, have you tried a complete isolation test. Try disconnecting all phone equipment other than the ADSL modem. This means all phones, fax machines, Sky digital sets, filters etc and ensure the modem is connected via a single cable without a double adaptor, extension lead, surge protector or extension cord. If this resolves the problem try connecting the other equipment one piece at a time to isolate the cause. Also try connecting the router to another phone jack. Do you have a monitored security or medical alarm of any sort. |

| 595208 | 2007-09-26 09:02:00 | How many phones jacks do you have plugged into the whole house. Telecom say any more than 2-3 may cause problems. If the line is over loaded sometimes the ADSL will suffer. Try unplugging every phone. Then see if it improves. If it does then plug each phone in one at a time , sooner or later it will play up again. If it does then you may have to use less phones or get another line seperate for the internet. |
