596027 2007-10-01 01:00:00 When i first built my C2D rig i chose to replace the stock HSF with a Thermalright Ultra 120, which is a very large heatsink. I also chose to pair it with a very low RPM fan thus an attempt to minimize noise, anyway the fan i chose couldn't mount on the heatsink with the supplied clips so I attached it with rubber bands.

After a few weeks i took the side off the case for some maintenance only to find the fan dangling by its power cable by the bottom of the case, the rubber bands have perished and the Ultra 120 was cooling the C2D passively.

Moral of the story is that the new C2D's are sweet chips and very easy to cool!
