595254 2007-09-27 09:20:00 It should not be making that at only 60°C... I have purposely stopped the fan on my 8800GTS untill it hit 100°C and it made no sound at all...

Would the buzzing sound during normal use then, when it is trying to render windows vista aero movements, and rendering the screensaver indicate faulty or broken capacitors?

595255 2007-09-27 09:26:00 Thanks for that. Would the buzzing caps mean that it is defective then and is able to be returned? Certainly it is very annoying.

If you got it from Ascent then they should replace it for you. They are a great bunch and are probably the best online store you could of bought from. You simply need to explain that you think it is defective as it is making a rather loud whining noise.

It should not make ANY noise at all, that is what I am saying, I don't know what is causing the noise, but it is not normal. Mine was in the middle of a game (Bioshock) when I stopped the fan and could hear nothing comming from the card.

Just send it for replacement.
